Epic Mt. Evans might better be called Awesome Mt. Evans because this monster bike route takes you to a unique destination—the highest place you can ride in North America—14,130 feet!
Starting in Idaho Springs and following the route of the annual Bob Cook Memorial Hillclimb, this ride is not one for the faint of heart (or lungs)! Beyond the challenge of cycling in this rarefied air (25% less oxygen at these altitudes), this ride is above the tree line much of the way, which means you will be rewarded with views of 14,000-footers on all sides!
This high altitude, 27 mile training ride has over 6,500 feet of climbing to get to the 14,130 foot summit of Mt. Evans and is sure to give you the ultimate “Rocky Mountain High!”
Featuring Michael Seeberg, noted author of Road Biking Colorado, the definitive text on cycling routes in the state.
Includes our new “Just the Ride” menu option which gives indoor trainers, coaches and instructors a choice of two 60 minute and one 45 minute versions of the ride to fit their training or class requirements (DVD only).
